Suicide & Overdose Prevention for Skilled Trades Workers

Suicide and overdose cause hundreds of deaths in South Dakota each year — and each one can be prevented. This toolkit is designed to address the unique factors that put construction workers, manufacturers, truck drivers and other skilled trade workers at higher risk, as well as to reduce the stigma that often surrounds mental health and substance misuse support in these industries.

How to Use this Toolkit

The pieces in the toolkit and on this page are designed to be placed in shared spaces, such as breakrooms and restrooms, distributed with other safety materials, or to be supplied to employees who request them or may benefit from them. You can also download digital assets to post on your business’s social media profiles and include in company email newsletters.
